From the comments that I received in the proportion challenge I think a few people might not have realized what they were looking at. I thought I would share just what the palm tree that was in the vase actually looked like. This one was a lot of fun.

Thanks to all who gave me very nice comments on this challenge, it was much appreciated.

The photo as seen in the challenge

The palm tree as it really is.

It's too bad that we couldn't see two shots in the challenge. Nice bit of trickery.

I thought the lack of proportions were the vases in your original.

I did catch on during the challenge (on the second look), and was impressed that it looked darn natural. I'm not surprised you fooled alot of folks.

I loved this one, as you can tell by my comments on the shot during the challenge. I was shocked it didn't finish in the top 10!

I got it, and loved it. Gave it a 10. I really thought it was one of the best of the challenge.

Matter of fact, I need to go now to add a certain photo to my favorites.

i did catch this during the challenge ... it just seems that the flowers and the palmtree are not the best choice for a shot like this ... it is not two things that one immediately recognizes as being of very different size (it could be relatively big flowers next to a relatively small palm leaf) ... i think it is very well done (the DOF is impressive), but it lacks the visual impact of for example the shot with the two sisters where one immediately recognizes what's going on:

i am sorry that you didn't find my comment during the challenge helpful ... i hope i made my self clearer now ... and if it is any comfort, i think most people did not really get my proprtions entry either ;-))
