Hey everyone, I just bought the Nikon D300 and i heard about this Noise Reduction function for the D300 and just wondering if its used a lot and how much it actually works.. I shot some new born pics the other day for a couple and my lighting situation wasn't to great and i don't like to use flash or lights.. just window light.. so I had to bump my ISO to 800 and my pics are pretty grainy... so i'm wondering how i turn this Noise Reduction Func. on and if its worth it to have it on.

thanks,

Kev.

Hey there!

Go into your menu and find shooting menu. There you will find HIGH ISO NR (noisereduction) that will perform a at ISO 800 or higher. Below you also find LONG EXP. NR which does the same, but with longer exp. In good light the ISO performance is very good (outdoor sports or something like that), but I am also a bit displeased when it comes to noise with higher iso in poor light. I think the NR helps a bit.
