Yes, I wasn't really meaning to be so dismissive of Ansel's work. I certainly don't dismiss it; it's seminal stuff without question. What I meant was that if Ansel Adams was Benny Goodman, then Robert Adams would be Miles Davis. But I suppose you'll protest that characterization, for at least a couple of reasons :-)
Anyway, I prefer your 'compare and contrast' of the two Adamses, in your most recent post here. It both more sensitive and more sensible than mine.

More like Charlie "Bird" Parker, atonal complex and revered by other sax players, and the average listener says "what is that noise?"

My dad loved Miles Davis. He thought Bird made noise :-)
