Extension tube is for focusing closer. Extender is for increased focal length. You need a tele extender.

2x extender will not work on that lens, you need 1.4x extender...

It will work. It just won't have AF anymore. It becomes a 140-400 F8

does it mean that the 1.4x extender will have AF enabled ... also is extender the same as teleconverter or they are different ? |

2 different things. Maybe call them a tele converter and an extension tube. One extends the focal length [teleconverter], one shortens the focusing distance [extension tube] |
