I have to shoot some product shots for Monday, some food packaging. Can't show it on here unfortunately but one of the packets is purple, and on my D300 it mainly turns out bluey purple, well mainly blue. I remember reading the thread ages ago about digital camera sensors and purple (is that all cameras by the way?) so know it is an issue and not just me.
Thing is in photoshop just trying to turn up the purple in hue/saturation doesn't really do much at all. And the packaging/lettering is too complex to put a filter or layer over it and mask it off. Does anyone have any ideas how I could fix this? |

Howdy Rob,
Did you try using the Selective Color Dialog to tweak the colors? It can be a very spiffy tool for that. I've used it multiple times to tweak certain colors in a shot without it affected much of anything else in the shot.
Good luck!

Awesome advice, thanks!
Weird, hue/saturation does absolutely nothing, selective colour makes it perfectly purple. Great tip, thanks for that. |
