Another warranty thread reminded me of this question I've been meaning to ask.

Rebels are good for around 50,000 shots right or actuactions? When I got my camera I got the extended warranty at Best buy for 4 years total. At the rate I'm shooting 3,000 shots in 2 months, I'm on part to hit 50,000 or so in 2 to 3 years. If it breaks down at say 60 or 70 thousand shots, do you think they'll fix it even though it's used up to actuations it's rated for? Just cuirous if anyone's run into that?

I know the other question is if I use it that much then why wouldn't I upgrade. Maybe in 2 and a half years I will depending on finances but I am kind of curious if anyone knows the answer.

I had a 3 year extended warranty on my old Rebel. I got it repaired (shutter replaced) at around 2 years 9 months old. I know I went way over what the shutter was rated for. No questions were asked, it was fixed because it was within the warranty time period.

Warranties are bought for time periods, not shutter actuations, right?
