Hello everyone, I just booked my first "real" wedding. (I have shot for friends as a backup, but never on my own) It is not until September though. I am hoping to assist at a few more weddings before then. I have an online proofing service, and a printing lab. I am very excited. I will have an assistant that day and possibly another shooter. I plan to have plenty of backup memory and batteries. I will have a second body so I can mount my 10-22 on one and my 28-135 on another. I plan on scouting the location a few times and meet with the couple at the site. I am also going to be doing an engagement shoot with them in a week or two. If anyone has a few words of advice that would be awesome. I plan on posting some of my ideas here as i come up with them, so some of you can tell me that I am crazy, or give better advice. Thanks All.

This is so exciting Andy!!!!!! Congratulations! I know that things are just going to grow from here. I can't wait to hear your ideas and to see some of the engagement shots.

The 28-135 is a decent lens IME, but it's not for weddings. Too slow. (aperture wise)

Things to work on- posing - from a bride to 40 people. How to physically place them but also direct them.
Lighting. How to use on-camera flash as fill, main, bounced, etc. How to light a bridal port up to a group of 40 in a dark church.

The second best day in a photographers life is when they shoot their first wedding. The best day? When they shoot their last wedding.
