I really need to renew my membership except that I'm not on here much anymore. But it would be SO Much easier to upload to a portfolio then doing it this way. Anyhow, these are a few of my 8 month old lil man. Taken in his bedroom, all natural light, no reflectors. Adjusted curves and used the unsharp mask in pspX2. Shot with an old late 70's mf 50mm f1.8 lens.

I realized I chopped off his toes in that one- actually had to straighten it because he kept rocking the chair.

No technical help from me, but by goodness, he is a little cutie!

I really like the first one a lot. That's just precious. The second one looks like the DOF may be a little too shallow. I see some blur around his hair.

Yo-Spiff, he's just too cute! I love the upper one the most: it's a great crop, there is so much personality in his eyes, even though he's looking off camera, and the sheen on the skin is delicious. It may be just my monitor, but the tone on the tip of his nose and on the cheek just to the left seem to be browner than the rest of his pink face.

Nice portraits. the second one is blurry.I would suggest to adjust the levels and curves a bit..they look a little flat in the lighting. I think a levels and saturation adjustment will make these a lot better. Or just convert to BW.Also clone out that orange thing in the 3rd pic by his leg and crop the top so his eyes fall on the Rule of thirds line.

I really like tighter composition/crops like the first one. Very nice.

thanks all for the tips. Any ideas on how to make the blurry one a little sharper? The chair rocks so that could be why. Hard to get a clear shot when he's trying to rock the chair at the same time.

He has such great light in his room in the afternoon.

He's 8 1/2 months. Now if I could just get some good pictures of his 8yo sister. But she is much harder to photograph anymore. The baby moves less than she does!

The 1st one is absolutely wonderful. I'm thinking the 3rd one could use a little lightening? The colors are to wonderful in the 1st one, that the other two look a little drab. But if you look at the chair, it's not as bright in the 2nd and 3rd shots.

What ISO are you at? perhaps if you set the ISO higher (lower?) whatever, to the larger number, you might be able to get more depth of field, but still have good non-grainy results.

I was shooting at ISO 600 for all of them. I'm thinking I can bump that up - have done so in the past and still not had graininess.

I plan on doing more, need to get pictures of both of my children together. Problem is I have the best light in lil man's bedroom and by the time my daughter gets home from school, the light is not as good lol.
