There is definitely a lose formula for getting above average scores on DPC and I have to confess to being sucked into chasing it week on week. However, for the first time I have strayed away from my obvious stock interpretations to something a little more, how can i put it, creative!

My score is not great at 5.5 but I have evoked 9 comments and a request for proof! The comments are 8-1 positive. When the challenge ends I expect to see the a large standard deviation in the scoring instead of my normal scores curve.

I love getting good scores, but stepping outside my comfort zone and evoking some great comments has been equally fun. Looks like it's back to stock photos for this weeks animals and plants challenge as my creativity is very limited.

DNMC vs Stock.......who cares, lets just try to be better photographers.

As far as anything else goes, I'm still very new to this site, not really had time to take part in challenges myself yet, and still trying to figure out how it all works here. Maybe I'll just steer clear of the forums in future and do my own thing. I was merely asking "was it just me" that wasn't getting it... clearly that seems to be the case.

It is not just you. Search the forums for DNMC or Shoehorn and you will find dozens of forum topics with folks struggling to discsss (or flame each other) about all these topics. I can summerize them all for you. Some use a stricter interpretation and vote percieved DMNC photos lower (or "1") and some use a broad interpreation and can find the challenge topic in most photos. Everybody is allowed to vote as they see fit. DPC has had this issue since day one and will always have it.
