On the 2nd of May Pbase doubled the storage space for its paying members. The price remains the same. :)
I like their credit system. :) Perhaps an idea for DPC:
Keep the old $25 a year subscription, but also offer non-members something like pay $5 or $10 now. That gives you 10 credits = 10 participations in members challenges (without a portfolio and dpcprints). That could trigger more people to become a member full time.

Seems like a decent teaser, but at $25 I think the membership rate is a great deal as-is. That's a TON of challenges over the course of a year compared to individual entry fees in other competitions - and a better value since traditional contests don't have feedback.
My original plan was to do a few open challenges first, but within a few hours of my first open submission I wanted more and signed up so I could join the next one immediately. If the price is right, it shouldn't need to be lowered. Not that I would mind more for less, but the current business model feels right to me. |

I agree that there is enough incentive currently to encourage full membership. Growing too fast can lead to insurmountable problems. We

There's currently a $5/month option which would allow you to participate in 8 challenges (four member) and is hopefully helpful to those who want to try membership out and aren't willing to pay the full $25 yet. |

I've been a full member right from the start so I forgot about that $5 a month option. :)
