Yep! That's me.....

No socially redeeming value whatsoever.

I never have anything nice to say, never speak the truth, don't try to help anybody, constantly bitch about the site and its administrators, demand more, give less, the eternal pessimist.....that's what I'm all about.

I especially like the people who always show up when there's any kind of strife, and take potshots, instead of being upbeat when it's needed.

So I won't sit still for it and that makes me a jerk?

Then yeah.......I'm a jerk.

That pretty much describes it. What's most comical to me is that you spend more time bitching about people who have gripes or complaints than those people gripe to begin with. I missed the memo that appointed you the defender of all things DPC. I guess we all need to see that Jeb's Outlook on teh Universe manual so we can all act and respond appropriately and to your liking. Its a big community with a lot of different views. Not many of us are like you and love absolutely everything that the site does. THis was my favorite part..."unpleasant, miserable, and confrontational." Were you wanting to be the pot or kettle there?

not neccesary to call them an ass. but you missed my point...

if you called them a Duck. would that be OK ?

when you called them a Duck - would you have really meant - felt - you wanted to say Ass ?

or is calling someone a Duck some how better than calling them an Ass ?

ETA: i think many people are oblivious Ducks !!!

i have a question for you that relates to part of what i posted earlier.

you say you don't swear. do you have other words that are used instead of a swear - but that potentially hold the same underlying meaning ?

for instance: replacing crap with crud.

i know if you looked the definitions up they would be different - but the intent of using one versus the other - signifies - to me - they are synonymous in your use of them...

I think it's also how you were raised. The kids across the street were raised in a very different environment than I was. Swearing just wasn't done in our house--it was common-place there. My husband and I agreed in the very beginning of our relationship, that we'd never even say "shut up" to each other. Since it is extremely rare that I swear, when I do say something, even as wimpy as "bitch". I really, really, mean it. So if my husband ever called me a bitch....

I should probably say "I rarely swear". There are definitely a few, but far between, times when I swear. And then people know I really mean it. I guess is has to do more with my old english teacher, not my family. That English teacher said he wanted to make a button that said "help keep our swear words dirty". There was a year or two after I moved away from home that I swore quite a bit. But I found that, if you use a swear word frequently, it loses a lot of meaning. Plus, are there really that many times in life that require swearing? Just because someone cuts you off in traffic, do you really need to call him an ass? Could it be that he was just oblivious? Could it be that someone was terribly sick at home and he was in an incredible hurry? Life is too short to always assume the worst.

yea, soup.

for crying out loud guys. listen to yourselves. would you say stuff like what you are saying to each other in "real life?" if not, don't say it here.

if you do, then say it there and leave it out of dpc, please.

Hey, we just established that I'm the jerk, right?

So what's your point?

I never said you had to see it my way, I never said I was the defender of all things DPC, nor did I say I love everything about the site.

I'm just not so presumptuous as to think my opinions and wants outweigh anyone else's and get insistent about it, and snooty when the admins don' give me what I want.

Yet when I don't take it well when someone attacks me, *I'm* the jerk.

Okay....you have every right to see things however you want, as do I.

BUT......just because you think things should change doesn't mean that you should project that same attitude on others.

I don't presume to tell others how they should view things....I leave that up to folks like you.

Here's a strange thought......why not offer up a pleasant thought or perspective instead of just showing up out of nowhere, in a thread you haven't participated in whatsoever, and taking shots?

Because I got tired of reading your endless nonsense about how you are so much better and more enlightened than any of us other little people. Step down off the high horse. The thin air is really getting to you up there.
