and boy was it a good time. It was an "American Girl Doll" fashion show to benefit Ronald McDonald House. Attendees, (5-10 year old girls and their mothers/grandmothers, and don't forget their American Girl Dolls) were given the opportunity to have thier portrait taken with thier dolls. Sounds cheesey, but they came out really nice, and this is a big deal for the girls, as they were dressed to the nines (to match the dolls).
The idea was that we would take the pictures and the girls would receive the prints by the end of the show (2 hours) We were partnered with Walgreens, who brought out one of the print on demand kodak touch screen machines. What a great way to work. We would shoot in sessions, after the first session, we would give the card to the walgreens rep, who would punch in the orders (packages were pretty cheap), and they would print out instantly.
R.M. House provided "cashiers" to take care of the ordering and money end, so really all I had to do was snap the pictures. So when all was said and done, I think we generated something between $2000-$2500 for the organization...and made some really really useful contacts in the process. |
