OK. The whole photo is a statement about photographic integrity. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of people who didn't get it but knew there was something to get. I was extremely happy with the "move the bottle" comment.

The bottle was there. I had been hauling a can along with me for a couple of days prior to this looking for the opportunity. This way, I maintained photographic Integrity tho. This is all based on a post by Gordon (I think) //www.luminous-landscape.com/essays/cloning-the-can.shtml

The rest of it is somewhat local. This is a very conservative Dutch community where just this spring the last holdout major retailer decided they would open on Sunday. Old Orchard has been embroiled in controversy over importing apple juice from China when they are located in the largest apple producing area in the state. But no matter the specifics, the duality exists as it does in the photo integrity debate.

I think the two symbols representing entirely different points of view separated by a fence sums up the situation. The controversial part is that the 'non integrity' camp have the high ground. Figuratively in the photo, and literally by voting the DQ'd winners as winners (de facto).

I purposely didn't do any manipulation (OK, I confess, I cloned out some distracting dandelions - 6 of them). So if you asked, this is the answer. If you were one of the two 10 votes, Thank You.
