I am wondering if anyone can tell me about rendering in Bridge or Lightroom. I may be being stupid, but every time I look through my files on either program just after downloading them, they look great in terms of light and exposure. Then I click on one to highlight it, and they become much darker. I realise this is possibly because I'm shooting RAW, however I seem to be unable to get them looking quite as good as they did on first viewing (the lighter version). Interestingly, what I see on the camera screen is also the 'unrendered' version, so almost consistently I'm finding my shots start out darker than I'd like once I start to edit them. If they just stayed the way they look upon initial previewing, I'd be really really happy and spend a lot less time on the computer!
Can anyone please explain if I'm simply doing something wrong, or if its just the RAW file and for some unknown reason the previews know how it should look better than I know how to get them there? If you know what I mean......
