Entered this //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=769774 in the Self Portrait without people Challenge and was a little disappointed with the end score, but then thought maybe it was voted low because, although it is a trophy figurine, it may be interpreted as a person. Can people give me a critique on the photo and also let me know if it failed for that reason or it's just the average pic as it was voted. Thanks in advance. |

Left a comment after thinking about it some more. Seems to always work out that the closer to a 5 you land, the fewer the comments are. |

I voted this lower as it is a picture of a statue (as I would for a picture of a picture).
It didn't tell me whether you are a golfer or a sculptor.
Adding something personal to the self portrait would have helped a lot

Thanks for the insight. That's what's great about this site, you learn something new with each submission. Cheers again,

It also seems far easier to figure out why someone else's shot didn't work than with our own "masterpieces". I've actually taken to trying to predict the critiques I will receive before the challenge. I'm getting better and am often right these days. Now if I can just apply it when I first take the shot. |
