Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with the telephoto extending/retracting switch on the Canon G10. I bought a G10, put 18 pix on it (it worked perfectly), then sent it off to Life Pixel for conversion.
Got it back today and the telephoto will not work. It worked a bit after I slapped it against my palm, but then would not retract. It turns on/shuts down fine with the bit of lens extension there.
Btw, I saw that they had put on 1800+ images while there (perhaps that is normal). But my deepest concern is for a brand new camera that will not work. Any help out there?

I'd give LifePixel a call and tell them what's going on - sounds to me like they broke part of the lens mechanism.
As for the extra images, that's probably just a case of them putting their memory card into the camera and the camera picking up it's shot number. That happens a lot when cameras are serviced.

I agree with OdysseyF22that you should call Life Pixel, More than likely any warranty Canon offers is probably going to be void because you had the camera modified. So cross your fingers that Life Pixel will be able to reverse what they did. |
