I want to enter a plea for respectfull comments on this challenge.

Whether the entries are good or bad, they represent what DPC photographers believe is their best work.

There is great potential for hurt feelings resulting from thoughtless comments.

Please, if you comment at all, praise whatever is praisworthy, and offer constructive suggestions that would improve the photos that are submitted.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I hear ya and agree but have my doubts it will work the way you requested.
I'm running into emotional attachment to shots. Something that I love..but others may not. Plus hundreds of CD's poorly labeled!
Secondly - taken with a less superior camera.

Hey, you're me, from the sounds if it. Or I'm you? Now I'm confuzzled... :)

And Dr, a brilliant suggestion, I might add (and did add)

edited to add adding...

I already know mine is the type that will have strong appeal for a limited group of people. Lots of flaws to pick at, I'm sure.

Critiques in a polite manner are fine. Nastiness in comments is never cool.

Nope, I'm going to be so, so, so very mean in my comments! Why change what works? LOL! ;)

Pffft. Did you type that on your cell phone?

Just practicing... :-)

So my usual copy and paste of "Why are you wasting my time with this rubbish?" is a no-no for this challenge?

How about just a simple, "Why?"

Or the ever-popular "No"?
03/07/2009 03:13:04 AM · #12
I received what may be the shortest comment EVER:

/.

If anyone knows what this means, I'd love to hear it...
03/07/2009 03:21:27 AM · #13
I think it means a new voter who believes that he MUST leave a comment before he can move to the next. I got a ' once.

Has anyone laid down the challenge yet on commenting on 100% of the images?

It would be nice that this challenge has the most entries, the most average comments per photo, the most votes overall etc.

I am going to try to comment on all the photos myself.

We're only a little over 300 entries so far. Where is everyone? LOL!

I guess a lot of people are having trouble deciding. I accidentally ran across another member's 1000th challenge set on Flickr yesterday. I'll have to skip voting their entry if it comes up.

Bring it on, Vitamin B!!! 100% comments and votes on the 1000th challenge!!!!!!

My fingers have been in training for weeks. And now that I know that ".", "'", and even "/." are considered comments, it'll be a breeze :-)

I agree with this and I will be very considerate in my comments. When I comment, I try to find the good things. If I see where something could have been done differently, I suggest it and mention that this is just my useless opinion. It's really not that hard to be decent about it.

If I can't say something mice I'm not going to say anything.

My photo is relatively poor quality but it means a lot to me so I thought I'd share it with you.
