One cool thing about later in the month this year... The pocono race is earlier in the month so our hotels will not be filled with - shall we politely say nascar fans
BTW - we stayed in Scranton last year which has many hotels and it was a quick ride in the morning to ricketts.

I just reserved the Infamous Room #2 at the Rickett's Glen Hotel, which means they'll screw it up and give it to  Scalvert again. I'm hoping to go up as early as I can on Saturday, so hopefully I'll be around if anyone wants to get together for dinner that night (the Rickett's Glen Hotel actually has pretty good meals!), or hang out a bit during the day, blah blah blah. |

Sunday is the "official" day, though some of us will likely show up on Saturday as well.

I'm sure we'll firm things up better as the date gets closer (not to mention we'll want to start a list of who is bringing what food, etc.)... but I thought it worked out well the way we did it last year. If everyone plans on meeting up around 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the Visitor Center parking lot, we could strategically move some cars down to the lower lot where we'll picnic later (and, God willing, I will keep my car keys with me and not locked inside). Since I still have the map from last year, I may as well post it here:
I enjoyed the round-trip hike, but that's probably a bit ambitious for some folks, and didn't leave as much time for pigging out :)

Let's do it like last year, with cars at both ends. I thought that was much more enjoyable than hiking the whole round trip. Especially if it's going to be that hot out again.
As for bringing things, I'm good for whatever we need. Since I don't live near a homemade doughnut store, or have a wife that bakes amazing brownies, I'll stick to the boring stuff :-)
