So, the main deal-breaker for me would be if the Canon had only the one command wheel.
Nikon does two thumbwheels: one at the top rear so that it is under your thumb when shooting, and one in front, just under the shutter release, so it is under your index finger. In manual mode, these are aperture and shutter speed (default) so you can keep your eye to the finder, compose, focus, adjust both without ever accessing a menu. At a workshop, a guy with a Canon (not sure what model) had to enter a menu, or press a separate button to select whether the single thumbwheel on his dslr was aperture or shutter speed. (basically, the same fundamental approach taken on the Canon G10 in manual mode--okay on my G10, but not for my slr)
That would be a deal-breaker for me. But I basically only use manual mode. More auto use, etc, and that is not a big deal.
