I just got married 3 weeks ago and have about 250 pictures that we would like to send to our families on CD's. Most of the people we are sending them to are not very good with PC's and imaging.
Is there any particular viewer that is easy to use and that I can burn on the CD along with the pictures? It would be nice to have a viewer where they could even rotate pictures if needed. |

You could make a self-contained Powerpoint slideshow with the pictures. The people receiving it don`t even need to have Powerpoint to run the slideshow. |

You can put together a very sweet presentation with PhotoDex ProShow Gold. Not only can you do computer-based slideshows, you can create screensavers, DVD's, VideoCD's, web-baesd shows, etc. With background music. And key the transitions to the music. And do Ken Burns'-style pan/zooms on still photos for a much more engaging presentation. Highly recommended...

If you're using Windows XP as your OS, you can download Microsoft XP PowerToys for FREE ( just Google XP Powertoys to find them ). Once installed, create the CD by copy/pasting all of your photos ( or their respective folders ) onto the CD drive. When you actually tell the OS to create the CD, you will be asked if you wish to create a "slideshow". Say YES, and a slideshow program will be copied to the CD as well, and all of the photos found on the ( new ) CD will be included into a slideshow that will be AUTORUN whenever the CD is inserted.

I've used Pinnacle Expressions/Studio with great success before... I used it to make a massive slide show on VCD (to play on most DVD players) for my grandparents 50th Wedding anniversary... |
