photograph anything you want, with a fixed shutter speed of 1s.
this would be verified with exif data on validation requests.

The last time we had an exact shutter speed challenge, the winner did not have the correct setting..lol

Make it an added rule that if you do not have a one second shutter you will be DQ'ed.

Don't go there... It was not pretty last time :-)

Also - Most of us strip the EXIF data before getting the image DPC ready and manually checking would be a PITA... unless you just did it for those that are validated after.

I remember that, great photo however. :)

But...like any challenge.....you run the risk of getting caught out. If you submit an out-of-date photo...you could get called up and then you would be DQ'ed...the same goes for this challenge suggestion...you could risk it...but if you get called up...you get caught!!!!

I like it a lot, it's a free study with a 1 second twist!

Hmm. 1 second. Perhaps it should be a speed challenge..

that is what I meant Judi.
perhaps i should have said... no point in submitting something if it is not going to pass a validation request!

Yeah, but there's that whole "DNMC is not grounds for disqualification" rule. :-/

it's easily done.

i remember not long after i joined, there were open challenges called Good / Bad.
extra rules were added to say that food was not be shown in the images.
people got DQ'ed for having shots of stuff like cake / sprouts (can't remember exactly).

so this challenge would look like:-

One Second - Take a shot where the exposure time is exactly one second.

extra rules exif data will checked on entries that are called up for validation. exposure times that not 1 second will be dq'ed.
