I'm getting ready to order a 300D (woohoo) and am also ordering a pile of other items. One thing I really want is a good IR filter. I am leaning towards an R72 but am wondering if anyone has tried a higher range IR filter.. such as an 093 or a 092 ?? I know that the 300D "can" make-do with the R72 with patience and time-lapse.. was just wondering about the others....
Thanks
R.

I thought I read somewhere that it does not shoot IR very well. I may be wrong

Well if it's built the same as the 10D you probably won't really be happy with the IR performance. I have a R72 filter and the results are less than overwhelming to say the least.

The IR filters differ in the amount of visible red they let pass through. The R72 passes some more visible red, which is then often used with channel swapping to create deep blue sky and water in otherwise B&W IR pictures.

I have never tried a true IR filter, but for anyone who is interested in a Photoshop equivalent, this page has some actions that will simulate the effect. I have played around with them, they are certainly interesting.
