Gah, I just flew off my bike (rain, wet gravel and alcohol are a stupid combination...), my leg hurts, and I've got a fire show to do in a few hours. Not fun.

The most surreal thing about it - I fly off, I'm lying on the ground going "Ouch", and my mobile starts ringing. I answer it, and guess who? Sustrans, a cycling charity I've been meaning to sponsor for a while now... Funny time to call, huh. I got up, had a chat with the fundraiser, and did end up sponsoring them, figured it was some strange sign from god...

Sustrans is a great charity, and has opened up some superb cycle paths in North Yorkshire - York only follows Cambridge in number of cycle journeys per head of population. Hope you feel better soon Jelena; I suggest a bath with some TCP or Detol in it - might make you smell a bit clinical but it will clean out any grazes or gravel rash.

I figured that the evidence at hand suggested I need off-road cycling paths more than most people :p
Not quite enough time for a bath, time to limp off in the direction of a ball. I'll try out that advice later on tonight though :)

Hose it down and douse it with vodka. Then have a ball...

Feelin' for you - ouch.

Jelena, flying whilst on a bike, unless you're a member of Harry Potter's group or a friend of ET, is not generally recommended. :-) Hope there are no serious injuries! Too funny about the timing of the phone call. Have fun at the fire thing!

Definitely don't bathe in TCP prior to going to a Ball! I had forgotten it was Mays week (only in Cambridge do they call June Balls Mays!) - which ball are you going to?

This one's for Clare college - they've got a Forbidden City theme ball, and wanted a vaguely asian theme fire show... (I've got a geisha style costume, as cross-culturally inacurate as it is)
Leg just about back to functional, time to party :)
Raish, I'll be taking your advice about the vodka soon as that fireshow is over :)

Jeez, make sure the fire is fully extinguished before you douse yourself with neat vodka!

Yeah ditto esp if you use Dettol! You're meant to be shooting fire, not on fire yourslf...in that sense anyway!

There's an AC/DC song with some excellent suggestions.

The show ended up being completed with the help of painkillers and some nice St John's ambulance guys who bandaged up my leg. And I didn't find neat vodka to douse myself with, so I ended up drinking champagne instead hoping it would be equally helpful :p
This morning I seem to be able to walk properly again - yay :) Think the champagne recipe worked.

awesome! I started thinking about it--but that's as far as I got. Tried some last minute construction shots-- I think they're about as pitiful as my rock and duotone attempts.

LOL! I went out shooting for motion panning, or whatever that challenge is called. I got an entry, just not sure if it's not pitiful as well.

eta: My rock entry is at 4.8. ROFL!

This was ROFL funny! My son was standing next to this fountain getting his feet wet, when all of a sudden it spouted off right at him! He got shocked and soaked all at the same time. Thankfully we were heading home at this point. Unfortunately, we didn't have a towel in the car.

eta: The right sequence. I'm surprised the last two were in focus I was laughing so hard.

its saving everything randomly and whenever i try to rearrange how its saving it freaks out and cant find the files. i dont see why it just cant save into the file i tell it to, instead of creating a new file and then putting the files into a new file within the created file. i mean seriously, is that necessary? and then if i try and move the photos into the file i wanted it in originally lightroom doesnt understand it. f&*k

AND the undo button doesnt work for whatever reason. how stupid

Wish I had something helpful to say--but I don't use LightRoom. I tried it when it first came out--and absolutely loved some things about it. But the saving was bizarre, and I still had to bring things into Photoshop. I was thinking that I should try it again, someday. But maybe not! Good luck sorting it out!

I'd smash something first, and then cry. Otherwise, you'll feel bad about smashing the thing and have to cry again, making it: cry, smash, cry.
