Curious, as I am reading more in depth into my manual.

oops, I meant like what are all of YOUR settings. I am messing around with the customs, and I was curious how everyone else had theirs setup.

I use default 99% of the time.
I like how Rob Galbraith explains things, and his reasons usually make sense to me.

Since I always do post-processing on my pictures, I use parameter 2.

Either my camera is different or Rob Galbraith's info is outdated/incorrect.

My Parameter1 setting gives me Sharpness +1 not +2

I use default most of the time. Reason, it just looks good.
I use custom when I am doing portraits. Reason, I increase color tone
to give more accurate rendition of skin color.

I just made myself a custom parameter, and I must say that the way the pictures have been coming out have been superb!

Galbraith probably meant, "sharpness +2 on the 10D scale."

contrast +1
Sharpness +2
Saturation 0 (mid scale)
Color Tone 0 (mid scale)

100% of the time

i am thinking the boosted saturation may add noise to images.
but have nothing to back that claim up
05/03/2004 04:26:12 AM · #14
could reducing saturation possibly result in less noisy pics?

I've been using para 2 for quite a while for the same reason as Dyslexic. I'm curious now and might try contrast +1 and Sharpness +2 to see how it compares
