| To the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8? In terms of build, optic quality, etc. Is there anyone who's used both and can comment? |

| I've only used the Sigma but I've been very happy with it for the most part; quite sharp and contrasty under most conditions. Highly flare prone, even with the hood on. Significant distortion at the wide end (no surprise). I understand that there are some QC issues with it but my copy is quite good, and 1/2 the price of the equivalent name brand. |
