Hi all...

I was checking out Alains profile and pm'd him about his collages. (Thanks for the reply btw!)

He uses fotofusion (which I'm sure many others here do too).

I can't buy a new program right now, and I know it takes longer in Photoshop, but does anyone have a link to a tutorial that can collage in that style? Specifically like this:

I'd like to figure out a quick way to get all the shapes lined up like that (rectangles, squares, big, small, etc.) and still have equal spacing between them.

I may play with it today myself, so if I figure out something clever, I'll post it.

Thanks!

I use fotofusion as well, but before I had it I used to make collages in PSP. My hint for getting even spaces between the photos is to use the grid. Other than that it will just take time and patience to do it.

I do believe Picassa has a basic collage builder, and Picassa is free.

I use Fotofusion, too, wouldn't want to be without it - Photoshop makes it too hard :-(

However, until you can get it, here are two more free websites with collage function: www.picnik.com and //new.picture2life.com/.

I couldn't quite justify the price of Fotofusion, so here's what I did. I downloaded the trial version and ran a bunch of different collages with differing numbers of images. Then I used those saved collages as templates. Basically, opening the image in Photoshop and resizing to whatever size I wanted, then just using the frames as the guidelines to insert my own images in. You need time and patience, but I have more of those things than I have the $$ to invest in Fotofusion. Here is one example:
