Yes, me too. But these are spread out, not just one or two visits. I don't think kenskid's comment's are out of line, nor do I think he broke any rules, etc. But I do think there is some sort of "relationship" there. Antagonistic or not, it is disingenuous to pretend otherwise. |

I leave comments based on photos I randomly find, and if I happen to look through the portfolio of a random photographer and if I like their pictures I will
A) Leave comments
B) Add some to favorites
C) Add photographer to Favorites
or D) Message photographer and tell them how impressed I am and hopefully I'll be that good someday.
Based on what was discussed here I think I am a stalker. (Really I'm Kidding)
I might be upset if someone sent me a PM telling me to refrain from commenting on their images. But I would probably stop doing it if it bothered them. And I would think to myself, why put your picture up if you don't want comments on it. Good or bad? |

this might be a good reason to impliment the 'ignore user' option...
though usually when i get a comment i don't like or want to read i just put a piece of black tape over it.../

I wouldn't bother stopping to talk at length with some wild-eyed crazy person ranting on a street corner. That sort of thing just blends in with the noise of the street. The difference is, give this person an Internet connection and he might email you, or post wild accusations, making it more difficult to ignore. But it's still just as meaningless. ;-)
[sent you a PM, Ken]

They stand on their own as reasons why I've personally asked him to refrain from commenting on almost every one of my images in the post challenge. Is he doing this to others? I don't think so. I think he's on a mission. |
Perhaps we should all leave comments on your photos of the same low caliber you leave for others.

We didn't, and it does. |
And, I didn't ask for SC removal of that comment. I did flag the stalking nature of Kenskid's pattern of leaving comments on my images in the post challenge. |
Hehehe -- "stalking nature" What a riot!

My private message to kenskid was a request that he stop. I don't feel his comments broke any rules, but they made me very uncomfortable. Just rec'd this response from the gentleman:
DPChallenge user kenskid has sent you the following private message:
I will not stop...
Unless you can show SC where I am breaking rules then I will not stop. Take this up with them and have me kicked off if you feel I am willfully breaking DP rules.
***********
SC representatives have already told me they will not intervene, so long as the person does not violate TOS rules. So, I can't force the person to spread his "good will" around, but I can ask that he avoid me in the future. Maybe time will help this person. In the meantime, I'll use that "piece of black tape". Good idea! |

...aaaaand we're locked. It's not unusual for a user to follow and comment on an individual photographer's work (particularly if it's a unique style or unusual in content or quality), and while the comments were perfectly innocuous IMO, Barry is correct that the forum rules prohibit calling out members and comments. Feel free to heed or ignore a comment or a PM request, but don't make a public issue out of it. In the end, each POV is just one person's opinion. |

Oh dear. I go through and leave five to ten comments (sometimes more!) when I visit someone's portfolio. I get behind in side challenges and leave comments by user, rather than by posts in the thread. If there's someone's work I discover in the recently posted section, I may leave comments on that and three or four more. At the same time. And when I remember someone's portfolio I haven't visited in a while, well, I'll go through and comment up a storm if they have a lot of new stuff.
But I do stalk a few. Art, for one. I like stalking Art. :-) |
