I've been scouring the web to find this photo I saw the other day and loved. Here is a basic description:

An indoor, highly elevated photograph inside a cathedral, showing the aisle, pews, and front of the church. The aisle itself is an aerial shot of city street, such that the street runs down the aisle. (composite shot?)

Anybody know this image?

Sorry, doesn't sound familiar, but certainly sounds intriguing.

I think I might know what you are talking about but for the life of me I cannot recall the photographer's name.

He has done composite work black& white mainly. There is one with the front of the cathedral that appears to be the chest and outstretched wings of an eagle...then there is another with a lighthouse...ugh I'll have to think. But I know I have seen some of his prints for sale at Michael's Arts and Crafts.

Yup, that is the artist (Soaring Cathedral is the title of other one I was thinking of when you first mentioned it)...glad you were able to find it as I keyed in words that failed to hit upon his work.

scott mutter is one of my favorite photographers. his work is amazing. specially since this is pre photoshop stuff.

me too lol... my buddy located this. I think that whats cool isn't that it's pre-PS, its that you know that the photos were carefully aligned... using PS to comp images is not really too much power, but when you alter the perspective, mutilate the original, ect. to do this on a comp, its cheese.

In other words, plaisir or juisance?

You REALLY gotta check out Jerry, he was mega-shopping two decades before there WAS such a thing as digital imaging and photoshop. Awesome work.
