The results of the 'Best of 2008' challenge have been recalculated, due to the disqualification of the former 5th place. Congrats to our new honorable mention!

It would be very helpful to know exactly why a photo such as this was disqualified. Yes, the comments mention the "change a typical viewer's description" nonsense, but that doesn't tell us what actually tipped the SC's opinion against the photographer in this case. If there were some way to graphically detail the specific reasons for such disqualifications it might go a long way in helping to prevent future incidents.
BTW, my condolences on the DQ Darren.

| Just as a guess with the black background, I bet the rest of the lathe was burned into oblivion. I agree with you though. It would be very, very beneficial to see before and afters for DQs. |
