My Buster is still going. He turned 17 this June. While I really did plan to have him put to sleep before the cold weather set in, I couldn't bring myself to do it. He is quite a happy dog. Very vocal when he's begging or needs to go out. He doesn't bark, he "talks". LOL! He does take doggy pain pills, but the vet said he's OK with that. He's senile, mostly blind, and deaf. But he's pampered to the max. He lays on a pillow, with his own personal electric heater. Food and water are brought to him and he's carried in an out to do his business. He still has his pug grin and as long as he's eating and not in pain I'm going to keep him happy. |

Max lived to about 16 - he was a rescue that was found in a ditch, malnourished, and almost dead from pneumonia. He too was deaf. His bark indicated he had been born that way. Max also had cancer - but was kept pain free to the end. When he got to where he could not stand up I had the vet end his suffering. |
