Even better it is in garish Achoo colors!

When YOU get a color shot of cute little kitten published over there, let me know! ;-)

Congrats!

Yeah, I think the images I've had published all went up at around midnight (or very late in the evening) and I was bummed that they disappeared too quickly. Though I think the site is trafficed heavily by an international crowd the views probably aren't hurt by the time zones.

This one meant a lot to me...

I received that post from Pinapple noting the passing of a real NYC charater Joseph Ades. He was a daper English gent that sold peelers at open air markets in town. So, I'm really happy I got to help pay tribute to him.

That's pretty cool. But you are making it look too easy for those of us who struggle to get anything published!

I do have 5 rejects, fwiw but keep in mind I've been shooting towards their palette for over 5 years so I had a number of things lying around, right up their alley. It'll get a lot harder once I rip through my stash. lol

pmo? I'm not hip to that one. I haven't entered it because I figured it looked too posed and would get rejected on those grounds.

All the cool kids know that pmo means "prolong my orgasm".

It pisses me off, too, however, when people assume you know what they're trying to infer by using an acronym.

Thanks for the tip off. :)

Man, what would be the odds? I've got a second shot that's 24 hours into screening. Can lightning strike twice?

How about 'Pacific Daybreak'? don't tell me they rejected that one.

That was the first I entered and it got rejected for the most reasons I've ever seen. :) The horizon was tilted, it had a standard composition, the black at the bottom was distracting, the white of the water was blown (no it wasn't), it was oversharpend, they didn't like the motif, and it lacked impact.

I'm serious. They said all that...

I could potentially try to work that one over and resubmit.

my 6th entrant now says "in screening" instead of "waiting to be screened" i guess this means it made it past the first screener? donno

Amen, sista!

I do agree with a fair amount of the critique. The horizon is tilted and it is oversharpened in the rocks at the bottom, but I hate "standard composition" comments because I've seen 2 other pictures in this last week which are very similar moving water shots which have been published.

That's why I may try a re-edit.

Well, another one for Jason...here's the linky:

Breath of Gaia

You are like the character who is always getting struck by lighting in the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." ;-)

P.S. I see a dust bunny on your photo...;-P

Curious, how is screening popularity calculated? Is it truly a percentage? Am I the only one getting really low numbers on certain entries?

Heck no...some of mine are in the 5% range.

5% ??!! Really??? I know your work. I can't imagine you entering anything so ill-fated that only 1 in 20 people thought it was worthy of publication. I wonder about the math over there...
