Thanks again. Bad news is I can̢۪t access 1x from work (well, maybe it̢۪s a good thing) and I think there are image comments there that I haven̢۪t seen yet today. I̢۪m still learning the ropes there, so someone let me know if I̢۪m committing any etiquette faux pas. For instance, it looks like some folks respond to each and every comment received... ? |
It's blocked at work for me, too - apparently it hits the "nude" flags or some such. And yes, some folks respond to every comment received - it is considered polite/good etiquette to do so. Kind of a "comment received" deal. |

I think comments are emailed to you if you enable it. That way, you can check the comments while working if you really want :) |

Having just created an account at 1x, I find it tricky to know how to submit. I have clicked the submit a photo button but it remains in the 'unsubmitted' box. Do I have to fill all three slots at first upload before I can submit anything for screening?
Thanks

Yes, sir, you upload the image, then the next step is to add some info about it, then submit. Then you can look in "Uploaded Photos" to check its status. |

I think for the 1x audience, the second place finisher in that challenge would have a better chance. I'd give it the edge in tonal range and story. Not that yours isn't cute, you know!

"Ugly mug" must not be in their dropdown menu. |

any photograph that has photographer holding camera in it would be an immediate rejection. It seems they have this policy. Long back there was a discussion about this in their forums. Where the head screener said that they have no intention of publishing anything that shows person holding camera.
Exception to it, will be very difficult. |

I read that, except the screener's favorites have exactly that right now. A guy holding a camera. Except it's B&W and he's naked. :) |

It's actually a great shot. The camera is strategically placed. :-) Oh, and there was one this weekend with a photographer holding a camera - he was climbing a ladder to get a wedding shot. So there are exceptions, but as zxaar mentioned, they have to be pretty different to be considered.

i could not spot the photo in talk but i know there are some exception to this rule.
I personally think it is silly to exclude photos that have camera in it. But it is someone's site and if he does not like them, its going to be this way than.

Got rejection #9 today for my current Free Study entry. It's only a 6.1 here so I thought it would have a chance.
I'm back to not wanting to "figure out" what the random screener is going to like on any given day. I understand the sentiment about the camera shots being "different", but honestly, how many camera shots have you seen with the guy holding his lens 1/4 inch from the water with an actual frog (or other wildlife) in front of him? I've seen just as many "camera as penis" shots. (not saying that shot isn't good because I actually dig it. I love his expression) |
