Even though 'Anybody ever drop their camera in a lake' is all about camera mishaps, I starting this because I think it should get more attention.

About three hours ago my camera was internally damaged, and although it's pretty old (4 years), and I would like a new one, I really like this one. Well I was setting up for some hummingbird shots on my deck and I had the power cord plugged in to save energy. The cord was long enough to get to reach inside, but not long enough to have slack. The tripod (bout 3 feet high at the time) tipped from tension of the cord and my camera hit the deck. No external damage, but when I took a shot all I got was the image lined by pink/dark pink lines all the way down, overlaying the image. Not good. So now its being shipped off to a camera repair place to be fixed, hopefully. And since that was my only camera, I guess I won't be entering challenges until it gets back, if its fixed, or until I get a new one. Disappointing. Well it might be a good reason to get a new camera, and I guess the photos are abstract, there all done in camera, although they may be messed up.

It must be sunspots or something ... I missed a shot earlier today when my camera got hung up halfway through bootup, so I was stuck with the power off, but the lens out; would not either boot up fully or shut down.

I finally fixed it by taking out and then re-inserting the batteries.

You could enter it into Abstract!

No, I don't think so, I'm pretty sure its damaged. Its on its way to a repair place now. So if that was all it was (because I took the battery out for it to be shipped), they'll recieve it in good working condition (which would be pretty funny).

I meant the "mystic" effect of sunspots causing all these coincidental weird things ...

Ah ok, I got it. I was a little lost :)
Kindof like I'm a little at a loss to submitting to challenges now.
Voting and commenting will still be fun though.

my 3 week old 100-400L IS USM has been returned to canon after going wonky and giving me error messages, and my camera is being cleaned, drag wont be able to shoot for abstract.
