Hello Everyone,

What's the difference between "smart sharpen" and "unsharp mask"? Under what circumstances do we use them? As I understand, both sharpen images. Thanks.

Smart Sharpen was developed to improve the sharpening of edge details, and to be able to have different sharpening settings between shadows and highlights; something power users were doing "by hand" with masking techniques, and which SS has now automated. You can find a lot of "how to" pieces on smart sharpen b y googling it.
