I have heard a few people mention that you can tape a couple of the contacts to fool a camera/lens into autofocusing when there is a tele converter on it. Is this true? I would like to know which contacts to tape. I have a friend that has a Canon D30 and a Sigma 50-500mm and the Sigma 2x converter.

Any info would be appreciated!
