Hey, this is driving me crazy. I have my focus set to the * button using custom function 4. When I put my speedlite on, though, the * button is supposed to set off a flash for the camera to meter off of. When I have the * button set to autofocus, though, it won't set off the flash. Can anyone help?
By the way, i have custom function 4 set on number 1, and I shoot with the camera in manual and the flash on eTTL. I'm having this problem because my old 30d was stolen, and I was shooting on a borrowed 40d that has a dedicated autofocus button. |

nobody? i can't find a solution online other than sucking it up and using custom function 4:0. somebody else must have this problem
