Can anyone help solve the mystery?
My studio strobe will not flash when:
Attempting to use a remote trigger, remotely fired from the transmitter attached to the hotshoe of my XTi, and received by the paired receiver plugged into the flash unit. It will also not flash if I use the "Test" button on the transmitter/
I have tried fresh batteries, but that is not the issue. I have also tried changing the "channels" it is firing on.
The strobe WILL fire when:
I use the hotshoe to pc adaptor and link to the light via the cable.
I manually trigger it on the strobe unit.
And most annoyingly - the sender and receiver units work just fine at a local camera store when attached to their flash and their camera.
Any insights? |

How is the flash connected to the reciever?
Edit:
When it doesn't work, that is.

| do you have your camera set with the red eye reduction on? that will stop a strobe from firing as I found out last week! My boyfriend was messing with the settings on my camera and left it in 'red eye reduction' mode ... couldn't make the freakin strobe fire to save my life and was going absolutely crazy ... started going through the menu and found that ... turned it off and it fired the first time ... lesson learned: don't let boyfriend touch my camera! |

Receiver is plugged into the port / jack on the rear of the flash... Port / jack eliminated as fault because it works fine when syncing via cable, not remote. |

| All I can think of right now is either radio signal interference or a loose wire in the reciever. What brand of transmitter/reciever are you using (and strobe/flash for that matter) someone here may have experiance with them. |
