The photo club I belong to had the opportunity to visit the greenhouse at Rideau Hall (residence of the Governor General of Canada). I've added a few of the shots to my portfolio.
This is my first attempt at flowers this season. (nothing is growing outside yet. :-( )
Comments and critiques please.

cpanaioti,
I feel so sorry for you! Spring has arrived in California - I just spent 2 days shooting real wildflowers at Point Reyes National Seashore (nort of San Francisco on the coast.)
Your collection of "dreaded flowers" is actually very nice indeed. My comments on each image are very nitpicky - which I hope is what you wanted. If there's one general area of concern that spans several images - it is "bright spots" in a place other than the main subject.
The viewers' eyes will normally be attracted by the area of greatest contrast - coukd be a very bright area against dark, or radical color changes, or focus dropoff. So - when composing - try to keep that in mind.
Tulip Duo - Black background makes the colors really pop. Composition nice but I'd rater see the back tulip more sharp or blurred out more. I expect you coild not hold DOF so the first choice was not possible. The green stem is a bit distracting.
Railing - The bottom right corner is a victim of the hot bright spots (both the gray area and the brownish area. Very nice seeing, a very pleasant find.
Railing 2 - Gray at bottom again. Very nice composition.
Change of color - Bright spot at bottom left corner. I'd like to see more of the purple flower. It's usually better if the closest subject is in focus - in this case the closest white flower is a bit soft.
Window view. This is my least favorite of the images. The 3 globes draw attention and are very soft. I'd also like to see more of the flowers.
Tulips: Excellent composition. I get rid of the stuff in the upper left corner. Great DOF - aren't tripods a big help? Seems a bit contrasty for my taste.
Hibiscus: Wonderful - the soft lighting was really your friend. The only thing I'd recommend is to crop off some of the top.
Peace Lily - Exposure right on - which is difficult for an "all white" subject. The line behind the flower at the bottom is unfortunate.
The Light Within. Nice composition and lighting. I have no tips on what you could do to improve this image.
The Light Within #2 - The bright blobs at the top yell for attention. Crop them out.
Loke I said - nitpicky... I actually think you had a great day - too bad it wasn't outside just yet.

photom,
Thanks for the detailed review. Nitpicky is good.
