Howdy,
So... i've designed business cards for where I work at now, they want a map on the back but i'm at a loss as to where I procure one from.
I thought about Google Maps and screen printing but this is hardly original and is liable to some issues with priting at a sufficient resolution.
Or I could just make one from lines and words.
Any ideas?
PS: i'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but it was worth a shot. |

...eh? Like make the lines on the map out of words...?
What do the business cards look like right now, minus map? |

the cards look fantastic, and the map i meant to make the lines from, well, lines and the words on the map from, you guessed it, words. |

oh....lol I fail at life :( I thought you were planning to make the lines with words and the words with...lines...yes.
I would go with making my own, just to make sure google maps doesn't do anything too...odd. |

Someplace in your city's government (perhaps Public Works) should be some standard street/tract maps which ought to be in the public domain. Or just draw a scematic -- it really depends on how big an area you are expected to fit onto a 2x3.5 inch space. I've done a lot of "small" design work like business cards, and it's hard to fit more than four or five streets ... |

nevermind, i made a map with the marquee tool and a lot of hard work. Turned out very cool though.
Cheers anyways. |

Photoshop has a Pen tool you can use to draw Illustrator-like paths ... |

yeah but the pen tool makes little sense to me and for straight lines the marquee works just fine. I duplicated the original one to ensure all were the same size.
Easy. |
