| I have been looking to buy a Canon 40D and have saved about $410. When I search on Google a couple of the online shops show them for $300-$350 with no lens. Most keep their price @ almost double this. The cheaper sites say the cameras are new with a USA warranty. I want to get it but don't want to get cheated either. Has anyone bought their camera through these sites or do you know how they can do this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

If it's too good to be true, then it ain't true. Check resellers.com (or something similar - someone will come along with the site) to see if they're scam sites. |

Always check Resellersratings before buying from super discounted stores.
A lot of times they take out things like batteries, neck strap, etc and attempt to sell it to you at a more expensive price. |

| Yeah , those prices seem to be good to be true. Some of the cheapest prices are refurbished models. From a reputable dealer, Adoroma($700), Refurbdepot($688). |

These type of sites are the equivalent to the Nigerian fraud letter senders.
Stay away and buy from reputable vendors. Treat the exta $$$ you pay as peace of mind. |

| It's simple how the price is that low- camera for $410 and charger for $400. Battery? Another $200. Oh, and if you want a body cap? That's another $150. |

I was going to say "Magic!" but reading your post it's more like "Black magic!"
Seriously, check every online store out on that reseller ratings site (someone above linked to it)...I almost bought the XTi body for cheap on one of them, and then checked it out...it had like 0.9 out of 10. You can usually spot these tho -- the one I was looking at had the XTi new for $300 and then the Canon S5 Powershot for like $500... |
