Just in case you are wondering why you have one less 'favorite' count under some of your photos, I just purged almost all of my favorites. After one year here at DPC, I've learned so much from you! I select favorites when I see something I just may want to try someday: a mood, a point of view, a use of line or light or shadow, etc. Not that I've graduated or anything, but there are so many new photographers here who are doing such stunning work--I want to be able to create a new collection of favorites to study.

I'm just a copycat after all, I guess!

A sincere thanks to all whose images were in my favorites! I look forward to adding new works now!

No, it's not copying -- it's an homage! culturally, I believe it is actually important to reflect other's stuff in our stuff. It's particularly obvious in poetry, but any other art, also.

I get a lot of ideas to copy, too, but don't get around to doing many of them. But we do file away a bit of the idea or the technique to employ just at the right time, thanks to our contemporaries and to those who preceded us. eh?
