I am taking a very important trip this week and I want to be able to get some really amazing shots. I ran across a blog of a young photographer who went to italy for a little while and i think was backpacking, therefore had no lighting or modifiers. There is a great overall feel to these photos and I have seen similar styles from people like Tom Nagy.

Any suggestions on how to accomplish the look and feel of something like these

For many landscapes, especially the second image you posted, you need a tripod in order to get that sharp focus and a small aperture. Post processing also helps to manipulate the photo to portray to mood you are going for.

There's most definitely quite a bit of PP in those shots. Not your average vacation snapshots.

what kind of post processing is going on in these? it might not even be just the mood that i am interested in. its the smooth, easy on the eye car ad type of look. haha. i understand using a tripod and large aperture will help. i am more interested in knowing how to post process like this.

To me, and I'm not that experienced, they look like multiple exposures or lightened/darkened copies put together. Not HDR, but masked and layered old school type. Like this.

Well I guess it all depends on how fluid you are in photoshop. The possibilities are pretty much endless. We really have no way of knowing exactly what they did because we haven't seen the originals. Just open up one of your images in photoshop and play around, see what you come up with.

eta: it's the best way to learn!

I haven't got time to look at the photos now, so I may be getting confused, but don't you mean a small aperture?
