I am curious to find out whether the Microsoft's live.com cashbacks actually work.

Have any of you actually received any cashbacks because you redirected and bought through live.com?

Is there any fine print?

i dont know about live.com but I shop online through Ebates.com and always get good cash back from them. Not sure if live is the same thing though. let me go check it out.

I used it to buy my 10-22mm Canon lens and I have $160 in my cashback account. You have to wait 60 days (I believe) to get it deposited to your PayPal account.

Got $200 pending in my cashback account. 22 more days to go...

It worked for me. I got almost $100 back and it was just sent to my PayPal acct yesterday.

Just FYI: I just ordered from Adorama via live.com, and my cashback account does show a balance. I hope it turns into real cash in 60 days.

Yeah it works great. I used my cash to buy this little island between the Hudson and East rivers form some indians.

Did you get the email about the cashback right after you placed the order?

I did. It states teh amount, and the fact that it is in my cashback account which you can access on live.com and windows live id.

I think you will need to transfer it from teh cashback account explicitly or it will stay there.. you may want to check it there.

I've currently got a pending balance, and am enduring a somewhat amusing back and forth between customer service regarding a timed out connection or something when I entered all my demographic info the first time. What happened is that I registered with live, received their email, filled out my demo stuff, made the order. Apparently it didn't accept my demo info, and I didn't check it for awhile (until last week) knowing that whatever balance there was would not be mine for another couple months (or more). So anyway- sent a query to customer service with my sales order attached. They replied a week or so later,
To be able to assist you most efficiently, we would like you to please send the copy of your original merchant order confirmation to cashbk@microsoft.com. In your e-mail message, please include details about any problems that you may have had with your order, such as changes to order details, exchanges, backorders, or the return or cancellation of one or more items from the order. Once we receive this data, we will review your transaction with the merchant and credit any applicable cash back.
So now I've sent my order info yet again, and am waiting (for probably another week) for another response.
