I work in retail so Christmas gets really old about a week after Thanksgiving but I still have a soft spot for certain songs. What's yours?
Little Drummer Boy
What Child is This
Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)

Jingle Bells
Batman Smells
Robin Laid an Egg
The Batmobie lost a wheel
The Joker got Away

Always brings a tear to my eye.......

After eight years in retail- which I don't do anymore- my brain shuts out all Christmas Music. Seriously, the other day my wife and I were doing our grocery shopping and when we left the store she asked me "do you think they needed to turn the music down?" I looked at her and said "What music." Apparently it was quite loud. I would've been worried if I hadn't had a hearing test two months ago.

They play Christmas songs in Japan much earlier than Thanksgiving Day, but they never play my favourite, "Good King Wencelas".
I think most of the kids I teach have no idea that Christmas is a religious festival; they think it's all about Santa. <"¤">

It's not, it's a retailing festival.

Point conceded, though originally it was meant to be a religious festival. ;-Þ

Exactly. Not only are the stores packed, and line ups at every register, they make you listen to those songs, on repeat, while you wait. Surprises me that there are not more fights in the line.

"Officer, i couldn't take any more. If I heard Jingle Bells one more time, someone was going to get really hurt"

Little Drummer Boy -- hands down the best.

The one from the claymation show followed by the Johnny Cash version.

"Come........ they told me. Pa rum pum pum pum."

I love Christmas music - so varied and rich.

A couple of songs I really have been enjoying this Christmas season include:

Who at My Door is Standing as sung by Mary Beth Maziarz - a quiet and almost unknown English Carol that is melancholy and beautiful

O Tannenbaum as performed by the Vince Guaraldi Trio - the classic

Jesus Christ The Apple Tree as performed by the Westminster Abbey Choir - lilting and joyful

I can listen to that Guaraldi disk all year long.

Some other favorites are June Christy singing "The Merriest" and Blossom Dearie and Bob Dorough doing "What Are You Doing New Year's Eve?"

EDIT: Oops! They sing "Baby It's Cold Outside."
