It is like there is hair on the right side of most photos taken WITHOUT flash. Lens appears to be clean. Has anyone seen anythign like this? The camera is Canon SD800IS.

Yikes, that's a big 'un!
Although hairs, dust, etc. are uncommon in P&S cams, they are not unheard of. What you've got here looks like a hair separated from the sensor by a small distance. A reliable service center could probably get it dislodged.
