Unless I am really losing my mind...which is very much a possibility...I could have sworn that someone here had mentioned a new white balance accessory but I can't find it ANYWHERE! I even had skip look for me since I can't access dpchallenge at work anymore...(damn people expect me to work while I'm at the office, where do they get off?) but he couldn't find it either...Thank you for taking the time to do that Skip, I know you are very busy and I really do appreciate it.
Anyway, it was not an expodisc or one of those lens cap things. Best I can remember it looked very much like a shower/swim cap (or a hair net if you'd rather). The base of it looked like a mesh type material and the top (part that goes in front of lens) was white. It had elastic around the base so it could go on ANY lens size, and since it was just a cloth material you could just toss it in your bag without worrying about it much.
Does anyone have a clue of anything that looks like this? My wife is killing me for my Christmas wish list and I wanna see if I can add this to it.
Thanks in advance.
************EDIT TO ADD: oh my I just hit post and noticed a photo mag sitting by my computer and while going through it I found the white balance thingy!!!!! Sorry to bother everyone. Here it is Lally Cap
SC...I guess this thread can be deleted if it doesn't benefit anyone...so sorry for the trouble.

different ones have different uses.
I use an expodisk (got the largest one and just hold it over the lens for exposure). It has a competitor in the colorright (formerly colorparrot)
I also use with great success the target from photovision. I use it a lot and it's great.
whibal is another item i've considered getting and it's pretty cheap.
the thing you're talking about I am not familiar with. If you read up on things at the whibal site (videos I think) they talk about the concepts of white balance and how the tool needs to be calibrated to be accurate.
