I couldn't decide where to toss this so I'm trying here.

I've been gone, a very long time, 5ish years, so I may have missed a lot.

I am curious, does it always get this tense around here this time of year, or is it more recent, or am I imagining things?

It seems everyone is annoyed at something this month, or annoyed that others aren't annoyed enough. It also seems that otherwise tolerant and patient members are acting with a short fuse.

I cannot hide the fact it is beginning to trouble me, it pains me to see people tearing into one another, especially here. We have all chosen to come here, well most have chosen to come here because of a shared passion. I know that doesn't and cannot make everyone magically agree with one another, but that just makes it all the more painful to watch.

I hope this isn't taken as whining and I really hope no one thinks I am directing this at anyone specific or because of something that has specifically happened to me. None of which are true, it just seems people are turning sour and I don't like it. Maybe it is just me though, or maybe it is normal for here.

Someone let me know please, anything, even just that someone is out there. Thanks

It is Christmas time, money is tight, family is all around, the kids are getting out of school, the turkey needs cooking, the smoke detectors are going to go off and the Mother In Laws are visiting.

togtog - IMO, things aren't any better or worse than they have been in the 4+ years I have been eating popcorn here (oh gawd, I am wasting my life!) .

Put the hate threads on IGNORE and seek out the many positive threads. ...or just put some melted caramel on your popcorn. mmmmmmmm... caramel....

Art, it isn't just hateful threads, it seems to be cropping up everywhere. Little signs of it all over the place. Except for in here I feel the love in here *hugs everyone*

Maybe it is just that time of the month for me, I'm being overly sensitive and weird.

Someone recently commented to me privately about the state of this site and about being a paid member, they were wondering if it was worth it anymore.

My answer was it's not the site it's a small minority of the community but they get loud sometimes. This site has provided a lot to a lot of people, has a wonderful supportive and loving community for the most part that really do some truly wonderful things for people. Apart from those photogs that offer their wisdom, advice and time to help others learn and grow in the craft or hobby they love. so look harder you'll see the blessings among the tantrums:D

OHOhohoh I have some!!!

If you entered the challenge Fill Flash, you will have beaten me, I am at 4.9!!! whoohohoho!!!

I have a boyfriend!!!! (((Shyeah, I know, mop your brow in relief, I am not after you now!!!))I trapped him with stunning good looks, heart stopping grin and curvaceous curves and legs up to here!

Actually, I think it had more to do with the fact that I slashed his tires so he couldn't go anywhere, feed him Pasta, got him drunk and have two large dogs that growl at him if he attempts to leave the house!!!

I have my Christmas Tree up and lite, granted it is at a 20 degree angle, but it makes the train go really fast around and down the hill on one side

I reported my neighbor for all the dog poo in his yar, his Great Dane and 4 other dogs where making my life a stinking smelly misery. He got told off and now no dog poo. DId you know that Great Danes poop like horses, only more often!

Charlie my youngest son has learn't that when I am wearing the oldest pair of falling apart, can not find any other knickers cos they where used to carry plastic cars or be cut up for Barbies new silky lace dress, elastic nearly breaking knickers, that when he runs up to me in line at the store and throws himself at my legs, that my sweat pants fall down along with said knickers!

The kittens have learnt that they can not go into a dark bathroom and drink out of the toilet, cos grown up's tend to go in there and turn the light on and scream like little girls when something flys out of the toilet and or sits on them, making escape nearly impossible, but does make the boyfriend wonder how you got scratched not from him on your butt!

SO that is all the nice news I have to share this season! I am now sure you are ready for another 5 year break from here LOLOL

I surely haven't been around here long enough to comment on its current state, but from my experience on other forums, it is definitely just the ebb and flow of flaming. Really, the arguments on here are rather civil by comparison to some others that I know of. There is nothing out there better suited at creating angry people than other angry people. Some have a gift at it, and every now and then they will crap on somebody who doesn't have that gift.
