well,some people write in Spanish. I do speak English and not only, but not Spanish!

There are alot of dictionarys on the web just google it up English Spanish dictionary or something ;)

| I speak spanish, but when I make a comment I try to explain it in english... yeah... not a good english, but I try to do it in the best way that I know... |

If there were a multi-lingual translator available, maybe those who don't feel confident enough with their English might be more inclined to comment more often. |

| I think the OP is likely referring to rules and contest descriptions. Since almost everything is already done on a volunteer basis, why not translation too? Why not kick it up a notch? |

| Might be nice to have a more "genuinely world-wide membership". The site is pretty USA centered. But a translator on site is probably impractical. |

How would we deal with disqualification requests from submitters who do not speak English. We'd not only have to get our request for proof translated, but their response as well. Then there's the issue of getting a multilingual attorney to go over the translated Terms of Use, I'm sure that'd be pricey.
I'm not saying that I wouldn't like to see the site made more accessible to non-English speaking issues, I'm just saying there are overriding practicality issues.

All too true, but it really needn't be so deeply embedded, only offered as a convenience. I don't think translating legalese would be useful or expected anyway (international contract law being almost exclusively in English?); in any case one or two statements might help: This translation is here for your convenience etc. ... refer to the original English version for etc.
I've never seen a request for proof, but I thought it was pretty much static content. Again, one statement can be added (at the top of course) to effect of: Please respond in English etc..
I dunno. I think it's a very keen long-term (years) project. In time, there might even be SC members from many other countries (notwithstanding the UK element already present). Ya gotta start somewhere (like with challenge rules/descriptions for example). |

þá getum við keypt þvottapoka og svÃnarúllur, til að krema á okkur stórutánna :) ...
Eg tror at Norsk er sataniskt språk
