What the heck is all the rage about this toy?

For me to get one I had to get real chummy with a toy store manager (not that chummy..hahah) and call him every day at noon so he could tell me if one was on his delivery truck. He finally had a friend of his from another store bring one from the four he received in stock down to the store near me and then he hid it in his office for me. I just got it yesterday morning and it was on sale for $49.99. I was so happy to get the toy and sent the manager a nice thank you card but I couldnt believe I had to go through that. The manager said he had to be careful about who he told about the toy and getting them in because there are people buying them and putting them on ebay for over $200.00? I felt like I needed security to bring it to my car. Hahhaha. At least all of my Christmas shopping is done now. That was the last thing I needed or I would have been done last week. Unbelievable.

It's the same every year. The toy manufacturers know by about March what will be 'all the rage' the following Christmas. They base their marketing campaign on this, and then ensure there is not enough supply to meet demand, fueling it further.

Last year I went through the same thing trying to find an Elmo.

I would say look at what you went through to get one, and that should answer what all the rage is about. I mean you went above and beyond to get it, so that meant you really wanted it. I guess everyone else wants one, too.

You can probably find a cabbage patch doll or some Zip-zaps pretty easily now.
