To be honest all my life I've heard: 'Oh you're going to be (fill in the blank)! Your life is going to change sooooo much!' or words to that general effect.
Ummm err...I heard all that at 18, 21, 25, 30, 35, and 40. And guess what, things progress at their own pace, no matter what your age is. At 42 I am single, childfree (by choice) and own my own house. Even just 20 yrs ago I'd be considered a freakish anomaly. But guess what? Times and values have changed, and I didn't have to!
So overall I guess my advice is to let things take their course, don't feel you have to fulfill the expectations of others by a certain age.
